Turning interest into customers without being pushy.
Course lessons
Step 1
The lesson
Good sales isn't pressure. It's helping someone decide whether your product solves their problem — and being honest when it doesn't.
- Start the conversationBe friendly and relevant, not pushy.
- Ask and listenLearn their situation before talking about your product.
- Connect to their problemExplain how you solve what they just told you.
- Handle concernsObjections are questions. Answer them honestly.
- Ask for the saleMany people never actually ask. Do it clearly.
- Follow upThank them, check in, and ask for referrals.
Key term
Objection
A reason a customer hesitates — price, timing, trust, or doubt it'll work. It's usually a request for more information.
Step 2

Step 3
Real-world example
"$12 is kind of a lot"
A classmate tells Marcus his price feels high. Instead of arguing or instantly discounting, Marcus asks a question:
- Marcus: "Totally fair. What do you usually do when they get dirty?"
- Classmate: "I tried scrubbing them and kind of ruined one pair. They were $90."
- Marcus: "That's exactly why I started. $12 is a lot less than a new pair — and you'd have them back tomorrow for the game."
He didn't pressure or discount. He connected the price to the classmate's own experience — and then asked, "Want me to grab them after school?"
Step 4
Knowledge check
Answer each question, then check your answer to see the explanation. Retake it as many times as you like.
